As many of you know, Ive had a horrible time battling piracy of my Canon 40D and 50D Crash Course DVDs, as well as the others. An extremely small percentage of those who watch the DVD actually pay for them (less than half a percent). For those of you who have paid for them, I deeply appreciate it, none of this would be possible without you and it is only by your continued support I am able to do this. I feel bad even bringing it up, but if you guys knew all the crazy things that happen to me (being ripped off by customers) you would understand. Its a daily thing now...
For those of you who are illegally using torrent downloads, you just don't know how badly this hurts my business. If you are one of these people and are benefiting from my extremely hard work without paying for it, please take this as a warning:
My programmer and I have figured out a way to locate and identify you. By the way its easy and is very similar to the way music and movie companies are tracking and finding other offenders.
If you have illegally downloaded any of my DVDs, now would be the time for you to go to my online store and purchase a legit copy. Those who have purchased a DVD from the store are completely protected (unless you are also sharing it online). If you still decide you dont want to come clean, we are just going to turn your information over to my legal team as well as the authorities (in this case the FBI if you live in the US) and they will just show up one day with a search warrant, seize your computer and find the files. Something tells me they will find more than just my videos as well. Im not kidding about this, there is a reason we have the FBI warning in the beginning of the video.
If you are one of these people who have purchased a DVD and then put it online for others to view, you are in extremely deep trouble and will be hearing from us soon. Your only chance is to immediately cease this activity. The beauty of the system is that we can only track you if you do it, if not, we cannot, which is the way it should be in the first place.
I believe that the individuals that hurt my business the most are the ones who decide to purchase a DVD and then for whatever reason decide to convert it and upload it on the internet to give away for free. If no one did this, we wouldn't have any problems at all. If you are one of these people, you are on the TOP of my list.
Piracy is stealing, and stealing never pays off in the long run. It just isn't worth it.
